A year of patches, hats, and illustration
Patches, hats, patterns, and a wildlife library, each sent to a vendor as a file they can run.
The problem
A brand that has been around since 1931 needs a constant flow of patches, hats, stickers, tees, and outerwear. Each piece has to be new and still unmistakably Hoyt. Each one also has to reach a vendor as a file they can run without a phone call.
Sticker sheets
The 2026 kiss-cut sheets for the hunting and target lines: the 1931 arch, the pennants, the running deer, the script, the antler. The same drawings work as patches, prints, and stickers.
The Hat Bar
Eighteen patch designs, each rendered on 24 hat blanks, so the buyer could choose the whole lineup from one deck. Mesh truckers, rope caps, camo, and solid fronts sit in the same grid every time, so the patch is the only thing that changes.
The library is wordmarks, script, roundels, shields, flags, and badges, each built to sew. Twenty-six hat patch designs in all, including licensed collabs. I also art-directed more than 10 pro staff and product shoots.
Built to spec
Every patch goes to the vendor as a one-page spec with the art, the size, the border, and the exact colors. Woven patches use a heat-cut border and Pantone TCX thread colors. PVC is raised and recessed, with a hook back. Leather samples come back from the vendor before the hats go into production.
King of Bows is woven, 4.125 inches. Retro is PVC, 3.5 inches. Relentless is woven, 3.75 inches.
Drawn by hand
Halftone and line work for tees, patches, stamps, and buckles. Diana at full draw, cupid, the mountain goat, the mule deer, the skeleton buck, the bugling elk. A library of more than 100 wildlife and badge pieces, used across patches, apparel, print, and web.
The Vegas Shoot 900 Club buckle, the chrome antler, and the rubber stamps are drawn in vector and rendered so the buyer sees the object.
Patterns and camo
Seamless repeats drawn around the antler and the wordmark: checks, lattices, a Southwestern blanket, a topo, a sticker bomb. A duck camo run in five colorways, and a damascus swirl.
The 2027 collection
Roundels, laurels, crests, and wordmarks, drawn to work as patches, prints, and stickers, across a line of about 40 pieces. Work shirts carry a back print, a chest patch, and a camo body. The September Is Calling elk graphics are on the tees.
The process is draw, mock up woven or PVC with real thread colors, write the one-page spec, sample, approve, produce. Buyers choose from decks that look like the finished goods, and vendors run the files as sent.
